Kingston University has given me a different approach to Civil Engineering. In Brazil, my studies were mostly theoretical while in the UK I can apply all the theory with access to very good laboratories counting on the support of all the staff and lecturers
I will return to my lovely country with a huge bag of technical and personal learning that will make me a better Civil Engineer.
The university impressed me by the size and quality of laboratory equipment which permits the students to experience a vast range of experimental work we didn't had have in Brazil.
My English improves every day and I've started a research project in the university which will give me the opportunity to expand my knowledge in the structures area and also improve my CV since this project may be published somewhere.
The atmosphere of Kingston is what we hope to find in all universities: organized and free transport intercampus, well trained staff, a great library with a lot of study material, wide range of student societies (that go from sports to wine tasting), and we get all the support needed as an international student. Living in Kingston is also way better than I thought; it's the feeling of being in London, but without all that rush we find in big cities.
