Industrial Control Research Group (ICRG)
Control Engineering has been an established field of research for many years. A distinguishing factor of the research at Kingston is its applied character. As a consequence, we look closely at implementation issues, especially in embedded systems. This aligns with the University strategic plans to develop the area of electronic systems and to build a state-of-the-art embedded systems/electronics laboratory.
The group focuses on the areas of particular expertise and long standing recognition of Kingston University, namely: Automotive Engineering and Avionics/Space Systems, with particular emphasis on autonomous systems. At the same time we continue to develop research in other areas of control engineering, for instance in control of power systems and in process control.
The Group is a member of the United Kingdom Automatic Control Council (UKACC).
