Computational Language, Acoustic and Speech Processing Group (CLASP)

Current interests of the Computational Language, Acoustic and Speech Processing group include spoken language interfaces, language modelling, information retrieval, multi-modal communication and mathematics.

Current projects include "TalkMaths", which is a system that enables users to dictate mathematical expressions so they can be converted into MathML or LaTeX format, then rendered on a screen or in a document or printed on a page, and "KU-Talk" — a multi-purpose speech-driven system for simplifying many computer-based tasks.

Some members of the group have also been involved in aspects of the CAPS project, processing and analysing the sounds from notable events occurring during tennis matches.
