Title: Computational tools in drug discovery
The application of computational tools has gradually become a major element in the drug discovery and development process. The increase of information about biological macromolecule targets and small molecule chemistry during decades makes the applicability of computational methods indispensable to practically every stage in the drug discovery pipeline, from target identification to preclinical tests. This presentation will provide an overview of the field and current issues surrounding the use of computer-aided drug design in the discovery and development of therapeutically important small molecules.
