Aliki Peletidi of the DCRG recently attended the EuroPrevent 2016 conference, which was held in Nice in June. Supervised by Dr Reem Kayyali, Aliki presented a poster entitled ‘Do Greek pharmacists have a role in CVD prevention? A study to establish their views’.
Aliki says “It was an amazing and very important experience for my research and career. I am pleased that the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) chose my abstract for presentation in one of the biggest European conferences for preventive cardiology. I had the opportunity to share our research with cardiologists, and explain how important the role of a pharmacist is in the prevention of cardiovascular disease. Cardiologists and other healthcare professionals were open to the fact that pharmacists can inform and detect undiagnosed cardiovascular risk factors in the general public in Greece. In addition, I had the opportunity to network with researchers from other countries and I was also very happy to meet the President of the European Association for Cardiovascular Prevention & Rehabilitation (EACPR). The conference had very important and well-structured talks, and I was pleased that I had the opportunity to be there”.
