SWLS Funding:

swlsDr. Roshan Siva, a respiratory consultant from Croydon NHS Trust and Dr. Reem Kayyali, associate professor at Kingston University were able to secure £5,000 nursing funding from South West London, academic, health and social care system (SWLS) for screening chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a disease that remains underdiagnosed with around 70% of patients with COPD in Croydon not diagnosed. This project is hoped to have an impact on the local community as the undiagnosed people may suffer from sudden death or disabling symptoms which may impact their productivity and quality of life. A poster of the project was presented in SWLS annual conference that took place on Wednesday 21st October 2015 at St. George’s Hospital.
