Course Aims
To develop a broad understanding of the economics of aircraft maintenance, including airline maintenance organizations and third party maintenance providers
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:
- Analyse the economics of airline operations
- Assess the requirements of a range of aircraft operators and recommend an aircraft maintenance strategy
- Critique systems for predicting and measuring aircraft maintenance costs
Forecast costs and benefits of aircraft maintenance activities for airlines and other aircraft operators - Assess aircraft life cycle costs for new and pre-owned aircraft
- Review inventory management strategies for maintenance organisations
- Evaluate risk management strategies used in the aircraft maintenance industry
- Advise on maintenance cost estimation in aircraft design and modification
