Biography

Undergraduate degree in Chemistry (speciality: Chemistry of Natural Compounds). Graduate project on regulation of enzymatic activity of restriction endonucleases by DNA intercalating compounds (actimomycin and distamycin). PhD project on Immunogenetics (cloning of a mouse plasmacytoma IgG gene fragment). Studies on virulence factors of various bacterial pathogens (Yersinia, Aeromonas and Campylobacter). Over 70 publications in high-ranking peer reviewed journals (including Nature) attracting over 300 citations annually. Book chapters and patents.
