Dr Peter Garside

Position: Senior Lecturer


Dr Peter Garside has over 15 years of experience in working in the policy field of urban and regional development, providing economic assessments and working with a wide range of public sector institutions.

This includes: undertaking the most recent scoping study on Urban Blue Corridors for DEFRA, the National Land Use Database and Back Garden Development for DCLG, undertaking sub regional economic assessments in and around London for LDA and SEEDA, providing a working Atlas for London Borough of Sutton, a review of Commercial Office Space and Industrial Land in for the South London Partnership, providing a three-year action plan to tackle worklessness for the South East England Development Agency and producing the latest SME guidance on ?¢‚ǨÀúDiversity in the Workplace?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ for The Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities Directorate General of the European Commission.

He also has long term experience of representing Kingston University on a range of development partnerships, including the Workforce Futures partnership and the South London Partnership Business and Workforce Task group; and produced the most recent Sub Regional Economic Assessment for the South London Sub Region. He is presently external examiner for Birkbeck University for the MSc Community Development and Public Policy and BSc Community Development and Public Policy/Certificate of Higher Education in Community Leadership.
