Dr Clifford Dansoh

Position: Senior Lecturer


Cliff Dansoh joined Kingston University in August 2016 and is a Senior Lecturer on the MSc in renewable energy engineering at the school of aerospace and aircraft engineering.
He has an undergraduate degree in applied mathematics and technology and a masters degree in environmental engineering. He received his doctorate from the Open University for research into the potential for renewable energy and energy storage to be employed to produce potable water from seawater using reverse osmosis desalination. In his professional career Cliff had the role of Incubation Manager for Mott MacDonald's involvement with the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) Energy Entrepreneurs Fund for more than twenty companies with low carbon innovations. The disciplines included: vertical axis wind turbines, tidal turbine platforms, solar PV-T panels, underfloor insulation; chimney draught excluders, biofuel and chemical production, carbon capture, energy from waste and sewage treatment.
He has also undertaken various technical wind turbine and both onshore and offshore wind farm assessments as well as various asset management roles within large infrastructure projects. These roles included assurance manager, operational readiness and handover manager, risk manager, standards manager and change manager. Previous work experience includes marine engineering asset management and maintenance, and all aspects of wharf management as a Chief Petty Officer in the Royal Navy.
